1 John 2:15-17 "Do not love the world or the things in the world....and the world is passing away..."
I was watching the Southern California fire coverage yesterday when the reporters focused on this massive "castlellic-home" burning down to the ground. It's set up high in this exclusive area of Malibu once majestic with turrets and medieval stone walls. I was astonished by the reply of this woman who owned the estate when asked by the reporter how she feels about the loss of her property. She replied "My father did not teach me to allow my possessions to possess me...It's alright".
I don't know if this woman knows the Lord or not but that is the very instuction of our heavenly father not to be attached to a single penny or gizmo when he calls us home to our mansion in heaven.

It's hard to be intergalactic when you're weighed down by earthly things.
How thin is the line between us and the homeless? Will we praise him for better or for worse? Are we not His bride? Do my possessions follow me into the grave? What truely matter? I don't know how I will make my morgage payment on a house I do not deserve to dwell in? But...
